Position Summary:
The Credit & Collections Analyst is responsible for assessing credit risk, maintaining audit compliance and implementing effective accounts receivable collection strategies within their assigned territory.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or equivalent work experience. Minimum 5 years of experience preferred in a credit and accounts receivable collections position. Proficient with
Microsoft Office:
Excel pivot tables, VLOOKUP. Proficient with Dynamics SL, Salesforce, billing/payment portals or similar finance software. Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and assess credit risk. Ambitious, goal-oriented individual with a creative, proactive approach to work. Highly organized with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of credit management principles, collections techniques and AR reconciliations. Ability to implement company policies, making credit-worthy decisions using company criteria and established company credit compliance guidelines. Excellent work habits and attendance with a stable work history. Ability to work overtime as needed with limited notice.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate credit worthiness of new and existing customers by analyzing credit reports, credit applications, accounts receivable portfolio and relevant information. Identify potential credit risks and develop strategies to mitigate losses. Monitor AR aging within assigned accounts achieving cash collections and KPI goals by following up on past due invoices, contacting customers via phone, email and meetings. Document credit and collections activities as appropriate in company ERP and shared folders. Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies in a timely manner fostering strong relationships with customers and sales teams to resolve disputes and drive cash. Maintain accurate records of credit approvals, payment arrangements, collections activities. Provide world class customer service. Ensure audit compliance with company policies and legal requirements relative to credit and write off requests. Navigate and analyze invoice status within multiple payment portal platforms, processing data entry to match invoice and purchase orders of customer billings. Assist Senior Credit Manager with preparation of ad hoc reports and special projects.
