Summary:
The C&I Portfolio Manager is responsible for the management of assigned Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loans in the portfolio, including credit analytics, assessing credit risk, writing credit approval memorandums portfolio strategy, managing customer requests, and client reporting. The position requires strong credit ability, excellent communication skills, and a detail-oriented personality. Daily Responsibilities Include the
Following:
Monitor and evaluate the credit risk and performance of the C&I loan portfolio by performing reviews of the loan portfolio to determine credit worthiness and recommending the appropriate loan upgrades/downgrades. Manage assigned loan portfolio within Bank policy and customer service standards. Request information when due for annual loan review; analyze leases, operating statements, and property appraisals; structure and underwrite new credit requests and renewals, which may include customer meetings and property inspections as needed. Monitoring of financial reporting requirements and loan covenants compliance. Management of client relationships via consistent communication. Assistance with credit analysis of new client relationships. Maintain good working knowledge of the Bank’s lending policies/procedures and identify exceptions to credit policy. Participate in special projects or reporting. Prepare systems maintenances. Attend meetings and/or conference calls on transactions.
Qualifications:
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Excellent analytical/credit underwriting skills; ability to analyze financial statements, property cash flow projections, tax returns, credit reports, appraisals, and personal financial statements. Strong organization skills. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently. Ability to adapt to a bank’s databases to research loans and financial documentation. Attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; speaks and writes clearly and effectively. Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Power Point, etc. Familiarity with Banking and Banking laws and regulations.
Education and/or experience:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University is required, preferably in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. Previous experience in C&I credit analysis with a financial institution is required. Previous experience in leveraged financing credit analysis is preferred.
