About the Opportunity – Credit Assistant We’re seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Credit Assistant to join our team and support the Credit Department in managing customer accounts and credit applications. As a Credit Assistant, you’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate records, communicating with customers, and ensuring the credit process runs smoothly. What You’ll Do as a Credit Assistant The Credit Assistant will support the Credit Manager with a variety of essential tasks, including: Reviewing and processing credit applications. Contacting banks and trade references by email, phone, or fax. Updating customer credit limits and payment terms. Notifying customers of their approved credit status via email. Responding to credit inquiries and maintaining a professional rapport with clients. Following up on past-due invoices via email and assisting with collections. Preparing and sending demand letters and collection packets. Coordinating with internal departments regarding account statuses. Monitoring and responding to emails in the credit inbox daily. Handling incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate team members within the credit department. Creating weekly aging reports and bi-weekly delinquent account summaries. What Makes a Great Credit Assistant To succeed as a Credit Assistant, you should bring: At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, such as Credit Assistant, collections, or administrative support in a finance department, is ideal. Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). A professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with internal teams and external customers.
