Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Credit Risk Audit Specialist to join our team on a contract basis within the financial services industry. This role is based in New York, New York, and offers the opportunity to work on critical internal audits, focusing on areas such as credit risk management and allowance for credit losses. Successful candidates will bring a strong background in internal auditing and a deep understanding of credit-related processes.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and oversee internal audits, focusing on areas such as credit risk management and allowance for credit losses.
- Plan and execute audit strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Prepare detailed workpapers and documentation to support audit findings and recommendations.
- Draft comprehensive audit reports that clearly communicate results to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and recommend enhancements where necessary.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure audit processes remain relevant and effective.
- Provide expertise in credit-related audits, including consumer banking and credit risk management.
- Work independently and manage multiple audit projects simultaneously.
- Ensure timely completion of all assigned audit tasks while maintaining high-quality standards. Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of internal audit experience, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Proven expertise in credit-related audits, including credit risk management and consumer banking.
- Strong ability to plan, execute, and document audits effectively.
- Skilled in drafting clear and concise audit reports.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements in financial services.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and present audit findings.
