Summary:
Dime Community Bank is currently hiring for an Escrow Servicing Associate at its Headquarters in Hauppauge, Long Island. The Escrow Servicing Associate is primarily responsible for processing activities related to the management of escrow accounts within the bank’s loan portfolio. The role also responds to requests in an efficient and thorough manner with a focus on prompt and knowledgeable resolutions and demonstrates and/or develops a high-level of proficiency with the bank’s core banking system to perform loan file maintenance and other updates to the system. The Escrow Servicing Associate verifies all maintenance performed is accurate and relevant to loan product(s). Salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $55,000 to $65,000 annually. The exact compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, education, training, licensure and certifications, and location. All applicants must attach a recent resume. This role is a hybrid role (4 days in office/1 day remote).
Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional customer service via phone, e-mail, for loan escrow products to both internal and external clients. Provide strong and proactive customer service by responding quickly to client requests and meeting client needs with operational integrity. Evaluate loans and perform escrow analysis both when requested and annually to ensure all escrowed loans remain compliant. Track and address overages and shortages of escrow accounts. Establish new tax escrow accounts. Maintain core tax addenda and ticklers for loan changes including releases and payoffs. Align tax bills to Core from Corelogic and maintain and update accordingly. Update property tax amounts. Handle procurement and payment of tax disbursements in accordance with payment schedule to the various tax municipalities for each loan. Pay promptly to avoid all penalties and interest. Apply for tax refunds via phone or email. Ensure receipt and proper application of property tax refunds. Follow departmental and company-related escrow guidelines as well as regulations and standards. Adhere to established policies and procedures. Maintain a high degree of cooperation and rapport with all employees in order to ensure accurate and efficient operations and service. Scan or save all documents to imaging system. Act as back-up to the Insurance Servicing Associate assigned to monitor and pay insurance escrow payments as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
High school graduate. Some college preferred. Minimum 3+ years Loan Servicing experience, including at least 1 year experience in mortgage, commercial and/or consumer loan escrow processing or equivalent. Ability to work independently and as a team, under pressure and meet deadlines. Organized with keen attention to detail, planning, and follow-through. Ability to work on multiple tasks and concurrent closing requests without compromising quality. Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications. Client-first perspective. Team-focused.
