U.S. Customs Classification Specialist Position Available In Mecklenburg, North Carolina

Job Description
- A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)
- As a member of the Customs Global Classification team, youwill be responsible for accurately classifying a broad range of products inaccordance with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) onbehalf of Siemens Energy legal entities in the United States of America.
Withinthis responsibility you capture data/documentation and determine the accuratecustoms classification (tariff) according to the U.S. Harmonized TariffSchedule (HTS)! This position reports to the Global Classification Team andworks in close collaboration with the Customs Operations U.S. Team as part of amultinational team located in Orlando, FL, Charlotte, NC, or Houston, TX!
- How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)
- + Identifyingthe required information for Customs classification and capturing thisinformation from systems and/or colleagues of the relevant departmentssuch as engineering, R D and other areas.
+ Analyzing,collaboration, and assistance in classifying goods according to U.S.Customs regulations and U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule. Will need to takeinto consideration the technical attributes required for theclassification process. + Supervisingand controlling Customs classification processes. Compliance with the U.S.Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Regulations. + Ensureproduct classifications align with The U.S. Customs and Border Protection(CBP) requirements and other relevant trade regulations. + Researchand use tools such as Cross Rulings, explanatory notes, U.S HarmonizedTariff Schedule, drawing/specs, and other materials to help classifyproducts. + Recommendchanges in current processes when needed.

Export Control Requirement:
- Due to applicable export control laws and regulations,candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e.,current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee orgranted asylum.
- What You Bring (requirements)
- + Bachelor’sdegree in engineering or trade, legal or related or equivalent ofeducation and experience in related field.
+ Atleast 2 years of experience in U.S. Customs and HTS classification. + Experiencewith U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification determination, andability to use multiple tools for information gathering. + Systemexperience is a plus – ERP IT systems SAP, MIC, Integration Point, etc. + Strongattention to detail, ability to work independently, and part of a team.
