Job Summary:
The Customs Import Specialist is responsible for processing shipment releases for our clients in a timely and efficient manner and requires an advanced understanding of the release process, including pre and post release. This position must be able to effectively communicate with customs representatives as well as clients, carriers and vendors of GHY eBiz in a professional manner. Responsibilities Prioritize shipments by ETA for submission to customs both CBP and CBSA Completion of Carrier eManifest Engage in carrier, vendor and client communication via telephone and email Monitor alerts RMD Corrections Ensure elogs and audit trails support actions Assigned appropriate tariff classification to goods Assign the PGA data to the database for the goods Monitor entries for CADEX Analyze/fix rejects Other duties as required Educational Requirements Completion of grade 12 Education Completion of CCS Designation Preference will be given to those with a US Customs Brokerage license Required Skills Attention to detail Strong organizational skills Problem solving skills Ability to self-motivate and work independently Professional oral and written communication Work within tight deadlines Knowledge of Customs Rules and Regulations HTS Classification Skills Understanding of Outlook and Word Required Experience At least 3 years related industry experience Shift Details This position will be required to work evenings, starting between 3 and 5 PM ET, and be available to work on some Saturdays/Sundays in order to process some releases, however they will have flexibility to make their schedule work for them.
