Description We are looking for an experienced Director of Accounting to oversee and lead financial operations for our client’s organization. This long-term contract position is based in Loxley, Alabama, and requires a meticulous individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles in a manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing complex financial processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting.
- Lead the month-end close process, including reconciliations and preparation of financial statements.
- Develop and maintain budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial strategies.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making and long-term planning.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of financial processes and reporting.
- Prepare for and assist with audits, ensuring all required documentation and records are accurate and accessible.
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior accounting or financial management role.
- Strong knowledge of budget development and management processes.
- Expertise in month-end close procedures and financial statement preparation.
- Familiarity with accounting standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
