Exempt Description This position is primarily responsible for all financial accounting functions of the college including accounts payable, grants, banking and investments, and the correct recording of all accounting transactions in the college’s financial records system. Included are preparation of financial statements and related reports, analysis of financial activities as requested, and coordination of financial and operational audits. This position is sensitive and requires a level II background. Notice of E ‘Verify participation.

General college wide accounting to include preparation of financial statements and reports, cash management, and accounting for major construction projects.
Oversees internal and external audits and preparation of audit-related reports.
Serves as point of contact for college staff in financial matters.
Assists accounting personnel as needed.
Assists Human Resources with payrolls, tax reporting, tax documents and employee benefits as needed.
Assists other management in ensuring compliance with college policies, state education board rules, and Florida Statutes.
Assists Dean of Business Affairs, Vice President of Administration and Finance and other college staff as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises staff in a diverse group of institutional support areas including accounts payable, grants accounting, and general financial accounting. Typical Qualifications Master’s degree in Accounting or related field from a regionally accredited college or university; or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and applicable years of professional experience. Supervisory experience required. CPA preferred
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Supplemental Information
