The Vice President of Accounting will oversee the full scope of the company’s accounting operations, including financial reporting, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and team leadership. This individual will also play a central role in modernizing accounting processes and systems, supporting strategic initiative to include M&A activity and ensuring that the companies financial foundation is positioned for long-term success.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Drive innovation and automation of accounting processes, including ERP optimization and real-time reporting Lead strategic accounting integration for CRM implementation Provide strategic direction and oversight for all accounting functions, including general ledger, tax, and revenue cycle management Lead accounting workstreams in support of M&A activity, including due diligence, purchase accounting, and post-close integration Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with
U.S. GAAP
Ensure strong internal controls and financial governance are in place to support audit readiness and investor confidence Own the preparation and review of internal and external financial statements, partnering with FP&A and executive leadership to support business decision-making Oversee all audit activities, including planning and coordination of annual financial statement audits and ad hoc reviews related to private equity reporting Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and systems to increase efficiency, scalability, and integration readiness Manage compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including oversight of income, sales/use, and payroll tax filings Build and lead a high-performing accounting team, including recruitment, development, mentorship, and performance management Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Operations, IT, and Legal teams to support business initiatives, system integrations, and operational alignment Participate in strategic planning and support development of the long-term financial roadmap Other duties as assigned by executive leadership
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP and private company financial reporting Strong business acumen with the ability to connect accounting to broader strategic and operational objectives Proven ability to lead, develop, and scale accounting teams in fast-paced, PE-backed environments Experience with complex system implementations Experience implementing process improvements and leveraging technology to enhance accuracy and efficiency Experience with M&A transactions Excellent written and verbal communication skills; executive presence and strong stakeholder management Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence outcomes High degree of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism education / Experience/ SPECIALIZED
KNOWLEDGE
requirements: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience required Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role (Director level or above) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required; MBA preferred CPA license required Strong understanding of accounting operations in private equity-backed or high-growth companies M&A accounting and integration experience required Experience in services industries preferred; experience across multiple industries a plus Experience with Sage Intacct or comparable cloud-based ERP system required Successful completion of new hire training
