- DESCRIPTION
- The purpose of a Director of Accounting is to assist in ensuring the financial health and integrity the Company.
They achieve this by overseeing aspects of accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. + The Director of Accounting will conduct thorough financial analyses to identify discrepancies, inefficiencies, or areas of concern. + They would use their expertise to develop solutions for complex financial problems. + This might involve restructuring financial processes, implementing new accounting systems, or advising on cost-saving measures + They would ensure that the Company adheres to all relevant financial regulations and standards. By managing compliance and mitigating risks, they protect the organization from legal and financial repercussions. + They would work closely with other departments to gather information and understand the broader impact of financial issues. This collaborative approach ensures that solutions are comprehensive and aligned with the organization’s goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- + Plans and coordinates activities of the general accounting function to ensure accurate and timely recording of data.
+ Monitors financial statement activity, directs analysis and explains variances. + Ensures the accurate and timely reporting of all related financial results. + Ensures that general ledger accounts are reconciled and reviewed on a timely basis. + Monitors the general accounting processes; recommends and implements approved changes. + Performs management responsibilities involving staffing, conducting performance appraisals, training and developing subordinates, promotions, salary increases, terminations, disciplinary actions, etc. + Consults on technical accounting matters and documents accounting conclusions. + Interacts with external auditors on audit planning and accounting matters. + Partners with corporate groups and business units for the implementation of accounting standards and transactions. + Leads special projects. + Directs the activities of others. + Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
- + 7 + years of proven experience + Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related degree + Knowledge of financial principles, practices, and procedures as applied to complex assignments + In depth knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders. + Knowledge of accounting software systems (Oracle preferred). + Needs to have strong PC applications skills (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access). + Strong leadership skills to manage and mentor the accounting team. + Ability to identify financial issues and develop effective solutions. #DiscoverYourPath
