Interim Director or Accounting Tatum, a Randstad company Jacksonville, FL 32256 • Hybrid work Interim Director of Accounting with an opportunity for temp to hire in Jacksonville FL! Hybrid/remote schedule based on qualifications. The Director of Accounting is responsible for leading all accounting operations, including Billing, Collections, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Expense Reporting, and Project Review. This role supports the Controller by ensuring compliance with US GAAP, maintaining strong internal controls, and driving operational efficiency through process improvements and technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting services and lead a high-performing team. Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements. Manage departmental budgets and support firm-wide financial strategy. Lead system upgrades and process enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency. Monitor key financial metrics, including Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), and support cash flow forecasting. Assist with annual audits and financial reporting. Develop and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and controls. Recruit, develop, and manage team performance and engagement. Partner across departments to align financial operations with business goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting leadership roles. Industry experience in Architecture, Engineering, and Consulting or government contracts preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP, ERP/accounting systems, and Microsoft Office. Proven ability to lead change, implement new systems, and manage complex projects. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
