Head of Accounting Fury Construction & Development Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160 We are seeking a highly capable Senior Accountant to serve as the financial backbone of our organization and act as the de facto controller for our growing business. This is a pivotal position ideal for an experienced accountant ready to step into a leadership role, owning the day-to-day financial operations while helping shape the strategic direction of the finance function. You’ll be the primary steward of our accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and fiscal discipline—playing a key role in everything from month-end close to cash management and budget planning. This is a hands-on leadership role with future growth potential into a full Controller or Director of Finance position. 1.
Daily Operations:
Bank reconciliations Credit card reconciliations Processing vendor and contractor bills Supervising accountants’ daily postings Reconstructing accounting books from 2016 to present for all four companies 2.
Bi-Monthly Tasks:
Preparing check runs Generating financial reports 3. Accounts Payable (A/P)
Management:
Reconciling A/P with internal accounting books Tracking and maintaining A/P balances per project Preparing releases of liens for each payment issued 4.
Project-Based Financials:
Cost tracking by project Generating project-specific Profit & Loss (P&L) reports 5.
Tenant and Payment Processing:
Preparing monthly invoices for tenants Issuing checks, ACHs, and wire transfers Key Responsibilities Own and manage all general ledger activity, including monthly close, reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Oversee AR/AP, payroll coordination, banking relationships, and cash flow forecasting Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across departments Coordinate with external CPA firm on tax filings and annual audits Partner with leadership to provide financial insights that drive business decisions Lead and mentor any junior accounting staff or outsourced finance partners
