About the role We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our US Finance team in a key role, working closely with local accounting teams across the US operating companies. In this position, you will help shape and advance the accounting function. Your expertise in financial operations, combined with a proactive and solution-driven mindset, will be essential in building a reporting structure that adapts to the needs of our rapidly growing company, both through organic growth and acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities:
Standardize and improve the closing processes in each operating company. Create month end checklists, help streamline close to a WD4 process, standardize accruals across companies, ensure GAAP compliance, etc. Developing the onboarding process for new M&A companies, ensuring smooth and efficient integration into our finance operations. Create a proper controls environment. While working with the local operating companies, assess deficiencies and implement controls. Plan ahead for SOX and SEC compliance. Supporting and coaching local accounting teams to foster development and ensure alignment. Be the expert in technical accounting when needed to support the operating companies. Help design a scalable process for allocations and intercompany requirements. Coordinating the internal audit process with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance. Evaluate and enhance operating companies’ chart of accounts to satisfy the needs of consolidated reporting. Assisting the external consultants with year end tax information as needed. Experience While sharing our values and being excited about our journey is important, we believe that experience in the following areas will contribute to success in this role: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is strongly preferred. An advanced degree such as an MBA or a Master’s in Accounting/Finance is highly desirable. Group Accounting, experience in a fast-growing multinational organization is highly desirable. GAAP expert, IFRS knowledge, and Accounting Regulations Proficiency in Excel and experience working with various ERP systems. Experience using Jedox (or other planning tools) would be considered a plus. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles. Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams and driving strategic financial initiatives. Demonstrated experience with technical accounting, month end close automation, and controls.
