SummaryThe Director of Accounting is responsiblefor the Company’s Financial Accounting and Internal/ExternalReporting, and Tax. This includes overseeing the company’s externaland internal financial reporting, internal financialpolicies/controls, U.S. GAAP and regulatory compliance, andaccounting requirements. This position reports to the VP Accountingand Treasury and leads Job Cost, General Ledger, and Tax teamdelivery of its mission to be a solutions provider tointernal/external customers & stakeholders. This includes ensuringcustomer intimacy, innovation, stewardship, & business partneringto meet stakeholder and regulatory requirements.

Roles andResponsibilitiesThe Director of Accounting will perform thefollowing duties in a safe, productive, and effectivemanner:

Oversees activities related to accounting, financialcontrols, and external audit for the company, ensuring theeffectiveness & adequacy of accounting and control systemsEnsuresan adequate accounting system to maintain books/recordsManagestimely and accurate preparation, review, and analysis of thefinancial statements for regulatory and management reportingEnsuresunderstanding of key changes, trends, key accruals, ratios, &unique transactionsPrepares executive-level reports, analytics, andad hoc financial insightsEnsures appropriate reporting andanalyticsOversees internal control systems to ensure accuracy,reliability, and consistency in financial reporting. Oversee riskmanagement activitiesEnsures compliance with accounting & reportingstandards such as external (GAAP), internal policies/procedures ⋚al requirementsMonitors external accounting standards changes,laws and regulations, & ensures complianceRequires that hourlyrates are actively maintained & compliant with GAAP to ensureappropriate

Thisincludes L3 Market Leads, Region Finance Leads, and FP&AManagesanalytics and reporting needs of various external stakeholders:banks, insurance, audit and tax organizationsLeads and develops astrong team to deliver the department mission and goals whileensuring the appropriate qualifications, capability development,and performance management.

Supervises direct reports and keyprocesses to ensure timely, complete, and accurate work. Review keymaterials in advance of communication to internal leadership andexternal stakeholdersDevelops and implements metric-drivenprocesses to improve efficiency. Manage budgetsProvides direction,coaching, feedback, and support to direct reports to maximizeindividual and overall department performanceAssists direct reportsin developing short and long-term goalsPerforms timely performancereviews and progress reviews with constructive coaching andfeedbackEnsures continuity of department deliverables andresultsRequirementsBachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimumof 15 years of accounting experience; experience at a large publicaccounting firm is preferredCPA required, Masters in Accounting orMBA a plusFamiliarity with percentage of completionaccountingProficiency in Microsoft Office Programs such as Word,Excel, and PowerPointProficiency in analyzing, customizing, andmodifying spreadsheets to meet specific needsBasic understanding ofconstruction ERP softwareThe following competencies are needed tosuccessfully perform this job:
