Hoxton Circle Cary, NC 27511 A growing industrial services company in the Raleigh-Durham area is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead its accounting function. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing financial reporting, month-end close, and general ledger (GL) management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Manage the general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance on best practices. Prepare and analyze financial reports for senior leadership. Work cross-functionally with operations and finance teams to support business decisions. Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes. Improve internal controls, processes, and financial systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance. 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in an industrial or services-based company. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience managing month-end close and general ledger accounting. Leadership experience with the ability to develop and mentor a team. Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel. CPA or CMA is a plus but not required.
