Role:

The Director of Technical Accounting and Reporting is a highlyvisible role that reports to the Chief Accounting Officer with highvisibility to the CFO and broader executive team. The candidatewill own external reporting and help to build and maintain theCompany’s accounting policies, lead the preparation of consolidatedfinancial statements (including Form S-1) and address technicalaccounting issues arising from business transactions or theimplementation of new accounting pronouncements. The candidate willbe self-motivated with the ability to provide solutions for issuesidentified. A successful candidate is a highly competent teamplayer with integrity, accountability, and strong interpersonalskills. The position requires a “hands-on” person who is flexibleand able to work well in a high growth environment.

What Youll Do:

Oversee the preparation and review of Motive’s consolidatedfinancial statements, including S-1 filings and potential futureSEC filings (including Forms 10-K and 10-Q). Develop and maintainMotive’s accounting policies in accordance with US GAAP Assess allnon-revenue related technical accounting issues for appropriateaccounting treatment under US GAAP. Proactively identify, research,consult and prepare technical memos on complex / judgmentaltechnical accounting issues Own equity and stock-based compensationaccounting including the related disclosures Provide guidance foroperationalizing the capitalization of software development costsSupport the development and maintenance of effective internalcontrols Be a proactive liaison with external auditors to drivetimely closure of technical accounting matters and interim/year endaudits Continued development of our technical accounting personnel,systems, and procedures to enhance the accuracy and timing ofquarterly deliverables Be a trusted business partner and advisor tovarious stakeholders within Finance and Accounting and across thecompany Lead and assist with other special projects as needed

WhatWere Looking For:

BA or BS in finance/accounting. CPA is requiredExperience with public company SEC financial reporting essential 10years of relevant accounting experience in SaaS / TechnologyIndustry and Public Accounting Excellent knowledge of U.S. GAAP,including ability to research accounting literature, establish aposition and develop procedures for implementation Prior experiencedesigning, implementing, and documenting policies and procedures Beable to think creatively to overcome challenges and implementvision Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalStrong ability to manage relationships, think critically and solveproblems Proven ability to challenge the status quo Strong projectmanagement, analytical and organizational skills Pay TransparencyYour compensation may be based on several factors, includingeducation, work experience, and certifications. For certain roles,total compensation may include restricted stock units. Thecompensation range for this position will depend on where youreside.
