The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles, particularly in governmental accounting. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, managing cash flow, and providing strategic insights to support the organization’s financial health. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts receivable and accounts payable. Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements. Oversee budgeting processes and perform regular forecasts to guide financial planning. Conduct account reconciliations to maintain accuracy in financial statements. Implement cash management strategies to optimize liquidity and resource allocation. Prepare detailed financial reports for management and stakeholders. Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that drive business decisions. Lead audits and ensure timely completion of all audit-related tasks. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred. Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial management role. Strong knowledge of Sage accounting software is highly desirable. In-depth understanding of financial concepts, budgeting, forecasting, and account reconciliation processes. Familiarity with governmental accounting practices is an advantage.
