Work Hours:
Monday through Thursday, 7:45 a.m.•5:15 p.m.; Friday 7:45 a.m.•11:45 a.m.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Perform all duties with professionalism.
Assist with processing financial aid and other forms including, loans, work-study, appeals, professional judgment, and terms and conditions.
Process and calculate financial aid returns to Title IV (R2T4).Review financial aid files to ensure correct processing.
Answer a variety of student questions about financial aid processes in person, over the phone and via email.
Assist students by fostering financial literacy and debt management. Revise accounts as a result of over awards.
Discern when confidentiality in work needs to be maintained and maintain that confidentiality.
Certify private loans.
Handle scholarship applications/processing.
Maintain/update college financial aid website.
Process financial aid, work study and satisfactory academic progress appeals.
Alert supervisor of any issues that need upper management attention.
Provide exit loan counseling.
Type communication materials and fold/stuff them to be sent out.
Scan documents.
Process financial aid files selected for verification include confirming satisfactory progress, reviewing academic transcripts, reviewing information on computer versus paper information turned in.
Assist students in filing FAFSA applications accurately and verify their eligibility for financial aid.
Ensure compliance with voluminous and detailed federal, state and local regulations.
Maintain membership and participation in AASFAA and NASFAA, which provide advocacy and professional development opportunities.
Serve as a resource for working adults interested in attending or completing college.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Oversee Veterans Affairs at Decatur Campus. Cultivate relationships with the veteran student population and other offices that serve them such as Admissions and Records, Advising, Financial aid and ADA. Maintain accuracy of student VA files to reflect the following information: record of the number of hours in which a student is enrolled; record of courses in which a student is enrolled; record of course withdrawals of complete withdrawals; record of degree requirements and objectives and any changes in those degree requirements and objectives, and record of dependency status.
Assist veteran students with resolving issues impacting their eligibility or payment of veteran education benefits. Provide reporting and the end of each semester to the VA for students who received F grades and for those who graduated.
Ensure students are knowledgeable of information regarding monthly allowance, course and degree requirements, and general college and VA policies and procedures.
Ensure that the office operates within the required guidelines and regulations provided by the State Approving Agency (SSA) and the Department of Veteran Affairs.
Be responsible for screening and certifying students enrolled each semester under all veterans benefit chapters, ensuring certifications are accurate and processed in a timely manner.
Utilize and maintain an understanding of Degree Works, the Banner system and Enrollment Manager to ensure certification if accurate enrollment information student programs of studyServe as the liaison of State/VA agencies and actively participate in all VA benefit related audits.
Attend VA and Financial aid training sessions as required.
