DESCRIPTION

Coordinator, Financial Aid Systems Integration provides professional expertise and technical support services consistent with the vision of the college and philosophy of the financial aid department that ensure our programs are future-focused to deliver accurate student services. Responsible for researching, coordinating, testing, and implementing necessary user and regulatory changes to the Financial Aid modules and provides support for Oracle Student Financial Planning (SFP) and Campus Solution integration system needs. Analyzes current practices and procedures to improve quality and systems. Serves as liaison between the technical and functional staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Collaborates with the SA Technical Specialist, Computing, Telecommunications and Services (CTS) technical team to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the planning, implementation, and post-conversion utilization of PeopleSoft software, ensuring smooth integration and optimal functionality for end-users of all Financial Aid modules.
2. Collaborates with Admissions, Advising, CTS, Enrollment, Testing, Financial Aid and Student Affairs leadership and support staff to facilitate and coordinate Student Affairs issues, priorities, and project work plan in PeopleSoft (PS).
3. Interfaces with Admissions, Advising, Testing, CTS, Enrollment, National Student Clearinghouse (NSC), Federal Agencies such as National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), Common Origination and Disbursement (COD), PS Higher Education User Group (HEUG), and PS customer support to resolve issues related to the Financial Aid functional developments.
4. Coordinates system testing and integration strategies for all PS Financial Aid setup changes, customizations, and component developments with directors and staff in Student Affairs and Financial Aid.
5. Conducts yearly audit of Financial Aid security and provides recommendations to the Assistant Director and Financial Aid Director as needed.
6. Provides technical assistance utilizing Structured Query Language (SQL), Groovy Scripts and PeopleSoft development tools to diagnose problems or provide information to functional end users.
7. Collaborates with CTS and direct supervisor, reviews and approves PeopleSoft Student Administration system testing and installation of system modifications, patches, and upgrades.
8. Monitors progress and quality of ongoing SFP and PS Campus Solutions Financial Aid implementation, upgrade, and conversion projects.
9. Identifies the tasks and assignments for Financial Aid module updates and tracks testing and corrective actions.
10. Monitors Financial Aid regulatory changes and coordinates the planning and implementation of the changes.
11. Diagnoses and trouble shoot problems related to software, process design, and training. Escalates technical problems to technical team as necessary.
12. Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor’s Degree from regionally or nationally accredited institution.
2. Three (3) years of experience in a technical role administering student information systems, in higher education setting.
3. One (1) year experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) and other related development tools and systems.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.
2. Experience in implementation and development of PeopleSoft and Oracle Student Financial Planning applications.
3. Experience in utilizing PeopleSoft tools such as Application Designer and PS Query.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

1. Proficiency in the use of MS Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and Adobe PDF.
2. Excellent planning and organizational skills.
3. Ability to support end users in a client-server environment, with emphasis on PeopleSoft Financial Aid Application.
4. Proficiency in utilizing SQL, SQR, Query, Groovy Scripts.
5. Ability to communicate with and deliver training to staff.
6. Comprehensive knowledge of Financial Aid business processes, and financial aid records parameters and corollary configurations in PeopleSoft system.
7. Comprehensive knowledge and high degree of familiarity with the Campus Solution Integration system design and functionalities.
8. Ability to develop an understanding of and adjust readily to changes in procedures, practices, and other assignments.
9. Ability to function either independently or within a team, depending on the work assignment/project.
10. Ability to analyze problems with detail and accuracy, keep complex records, assemble, and organize data, and prepare reports from such data.
11. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
12. Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.
13. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
14. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

1. Works primarily in an office environment.
2. Flexible work hours including occasional evenings and weekends.
3. May be required to travel to and from College campuses and other local destinations.
