If so, we want YOU to join our team as a Financial Aid Officer at Delta College! The Financial Aid Officer is responsible for assisting students in obtaining financial aid to meet their educational goals. This position requires a thorough understanding of financial aid programs, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise students and families on financial aid options, eligibility requirements, and application procedures. Process financial aid applications, including verifying information, calculating awards, and awarding funds. Maintain accurate and confidential student financial aid records. Monitor student eligibility for financial aid programs and make adjustments as necessary. Provide financial aid counseling and education to students and families. Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate processing of financial aid. Stay current on federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and policies. Assist in the development and implementation of financial aid programs and services. Participate in financial aid workshops, orientations, and other student events. Perform other duties as assigned by the Campus Director.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial aid or a related field. Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs and regulations. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial aid management systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and accuracy. Commitment to providing excellent customer service to students and families. Knowledge of best practices in financial aid administration. Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
