Financial Aid Counselor 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 100 Saint Anselm Drive, Manchester, NH 03102 Saint Anselm College, a private, liberal arts college in the benedictine tradition, is seeking a Financial Aid Counselor. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Counselor will counsel, review and verify selected incoming and returning students, process federal student aid corrections with the Department of Education, provide backup support for the Financial Aid Coordinator, and administer various aid programs. The Financial Aid Counselor is a full-time, year-round, salaried position. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities In-depth counseling, verification of federal tax returns and awarding as needed according to the time of the year Utilize PowerFAIDS in various capacities from writing Selection Sets to Report Writer. Assist with development of comprehensive Policy and Procedures manual Serves as back-up for Administrative Assistant May oversee the day-to-day operations of Federal Work Study Program Reconcile financial aid funds Maintain and update the office’s web pages and student portal on a continuous basis Imports/ Exports data and performs quality control on financial aid management system May be responsible for disbursement of financial aid May be responsible for administration of loan programs Provide financial aid presence at Admission events, as well as other times during the year as needed Provide assistance to Assistant Director, Senior Associate Director and Director on an as-needed basis Supervision/direction is received from the Director, Senior Associate Director or Assistant Director; however, will report to the Senior Associate Director. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline plus one year of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Excellent word processing, spelling, filing, reception, and other general office skills. Strong reading, writing, math skills. Some relevant training or experience in use of computerized filing/database management systems. Strong administrative and organizational skills. Ability to deal courteously and efficiently with a variety of individuals, including students, faculty, administrators, parents, and representatives of outsides organizations. Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information.
