Banking Full Job Description Position Description:
Become a part of the Accounting department of a leading regional banking franchise with almost $50 billion in assets and more than 350 branch locations across the South and Texas. This Financial Analyst position is a key member of the Technical Accounting team and is responsible for the accounting, validation, reconciliation, and analysis of select financial data. The Financial Analyst participates regularly in both the compilation and presentation of key reporting deliverables and demonstrates a strong knowledge of accounting systems, accounting concepts, and US GAAP.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and analyze the Bank’s financial data and trends and identify, communicate, and report financial information and related trends and variances in an effective and timely manner Assist with monthly accounting close, including preparation of journal entries and various types of analyses to ensure financial statement completeness and accuracy Engage in complex accounting matters such as equity-based compensation, shareholder’s equity reporting, derivative accounting, etc. Design and perform recurring analyses, validations, and reconciliations of large data sets utilizing data analytics and business intelligence tools Assist investor relations by agreeing quarterly presentations to related support Prepare clear, concise, and informative written communications, including presentations and supporting workpapers Assist with the preparation and compilation of key monthly internal Accounting/Finance reporting deliverables Consistently apply advanced accounting principles, theories, and concepts that contribute to the development of innovative processes and procedures Perform reconciliation of balance sheet general ledger accounts on a daily and/or monthly basis Participate in special projects designed to enhance efficiency or improve analysis and reporting Interact with internal and external auditors during various audits and assist with select SOX compliance and documentation efforts
Minimum Requirements:
