Job Description

Sr. Financial Analyst
Overview

SUMMARY:

The Sr. Financial Analyst reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and has a high level of visibility within the organization. This role works closely with business areas such as the finance, route distribution, manufacturing, sales, and sales operations teams to provide key data analytics, extensive financial modeling, trend analysis, and metric reporting necessary to support the overall strategic direction of the company.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role may mentor junior team members in the department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as an analytic and data resource to assigned functional area(s), and other departments within the company.
Review existing data-gathering methods and offer opportunities for improvement.
Work with large-scale data mining and reporting tools and provide recommendations based on results of ad hoc analyses for strategic decision-making.
Work with the Finance team on various financial analysis projects, presentations, and other materials.
Perform Ad-Hoc reporting and analysis as the business deems necessary.
Contribute to the data validation inputs for a Key Performance Indicator (“KPI”) package for the Company utilizing a business intelligence (BI) tool (Hyperion, PowerBI, SAP Analytics, etc.)
Actively participate in building quarterly forecasts and annual operating plans, analyze trends, and identify areas of improvement in profitability.
All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business, Finance/Accounting) or another related field. 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, modeling, and reporting. Expert in Excel with experience building complex formulas, using advanced functions.
Experience with data analysis programs (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) manipulating large data sets.
Strong analytic, statistical, and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers and employees at any level.
In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
Independent, self-motivated, team player with a strong sense of intellectual curiosity and drive to problem solve.
Ability to be organized, review deadlines and prioritize work to ensure deadlines are met while delivering a quality product.
Ability to be a mentor to junior Financial Analyst(s).
Familiarity with inventory management and control.
The ability to successfully complete the pre-employment process.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with SAP and Hyperion. Experience within the foodservice industry.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Some physical requirements may include:
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, typing, reading, talking, and hearing.
The ability to lift up to 10 pounds with or without assistance.
