The Trading Analyst will perform analytical work in support of our trading efforts each day. Initially, this role will also help our data team improve our data quality and ensure data integrity. Over time, you may be given more responsibility as the primary trader for a particular geography. Responsibilities Assist with daily trade operations, using our tools to provide quantitative analysis and support Document market activity and hypotheses for fundamental drivers of prices in different locations on different days Perform analytical work to improve our forecasts and to suggest possible strategy improvements Assist data team with the implementation of new data sources, mappings between data sources, and ensuring data integrity for our day to day trading efforts This position is based in our Birmingham, AL office. Requirements Skills and Qualifications Strong work ethic and good time management Attention to detail Ability to synthesize a lot of information from multiple sources Ability to make decisions that are quantitatively informed Ability to make quick analytical judgments and balance risk vs. reward Comfort level making decisions under time pressure and with incomplete information Strong problem solving ability Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and across teams Good verbal and written communication Ability to quickly learn new concepts and subject matter – power markets are highly specialized and complex Ability to quickly learn how to use new tools and software, as needed, both proprietary and off-the- shelf (i.e. Excel, R, Python, MySQL, PowerWorld) Proficiency in Excel is preferred, but not required Benefits Tios Capital will provide a competitive base salary, with eligibility for bonuses based on individual and company performance.
