Financial Analyst Foreign Military Sales 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars 7047 Old Madison Pke NW, Huntsville, AL 35806 Duties and Responsibilities We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our SAMD team. This critical role will be responsible for the complete financial lifecycle of Foreign Military Sales cases, from initial funding tracking through final case closure. The ideal candidate will be a financial expert with a strong analytical skillset, advanced Excel proficiency, and familiarity with GEFBS and the Microsoft Office Suite. This position requires a proactive individual capable of managing multiple priorities and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Case Financial Management & Tracking (50%)

Funding Monitoring:

Continuously monitor and track funding levels for all active cases within SAMD AVN and MSL, proactively identifying potential budget variances or shortfalls.

Budget Reconciliation:

Regularly reconcile case budgets against actual spend, investigating and resolving discrepancies.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare accurate and timely financial reports on case performance, providing insights to management on key financial metrics.

Invoice Processing & Tracking:

Assist with the processing and tracking of invoices related to case expenses, ensuring proper coding and approvals.

Forecasting:

Support the development of financial forecasts for ongoing and future cases. 2. Case Closure (30%)

Financial Close-Out:

Manage the financial close-out process for completed cases, ensuring all expenses are accurately accounted for and reconciled.

Final Reporting:

Prepare final financial reports for closed cases, summarizing all financial activity and identifying any residual balances.

Audit Support:

Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits related to case financials.

Revenue Recognition:

Ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policies and procedures. 3. Systems & Data Management (20%)

GEFBS Expertise:

Utilize and maintain proficiency in GEFBS (General Electric Financial Business System – adjust if this is incorrect), ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.

Microsoft Office Suite:

Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools), Word, and PowerPoint.

Data Analysis:

Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Process Improvement:

Identify and recommend improvements to existing financial processes and procedures. Minimum Experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in financial analysis Required Skills Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with GEFBS or similar ERP systems strongly preferred. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
