We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst for a long-term contract role in North Haven, Connecticut. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with a solid background in financial modeling, budgeting, and reporting to contribute to comprehensive financial planning and decision-making processes within a forward-thinking organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including Management Discussion and Analysis (MD& A) , budget-to-actual reports, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate organizational performance. Collaborate with third-party vendors for interest rate risk evaluations and provide accurate data extracts for Asset Liability Committee reporting. Lead the development of financial forecasts, annual budgets, and long-term financial plans in support of strategic goals. Build and maintain financial models to evaluate business scenarios, loan portfolios, investment strategies, and risk exposure. Conduct trend analysis to identify growth opportunities and develop recommendations for product development, pricing, and other strategic decisions. Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulatory guidelines, managing risk objectives effectively. Use tools like Crystal Reports to enhance and streamline financial reporting processes. Provide actionable insights through collaborative efforts with cross-functional teams, using complex financial data to drive decision-making. Support auditing processes and manage accrual accounting and budgeting procedures with high accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline.
Experience:
At least 2 years of financial analysis experience (banking or financial services industry preferred). Proficiency in financial modeling , Microsoft Excel, and banking analytics software (experience with Crystal Reports is preferred). Solid understanding of accounting principles and banking regulations, including net present value (NPV) methodology and financial projection simulation modeling. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and deliver meaningful insights. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting financial findings to senior leadership. Familiarity with fixed income products, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Experience working with third-party vendors and cross-functional teams to drive organizational goals. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in banking or financial services.
