Job Description

Drum Capital Management, LLC , founded in 2005, is a Stamford, CT based private equity investment manager and registered investment advisor investing in three disciplines: primary investments, equity co-investments, and sponsor-led buyout transactions across a broad scope of industry sectors. Drum Capital specializes in deep value, special situations, and turnarounds in the North American middle markets. Job Summary Drum Capital is seeking an Investment Analyst to participate in all three investment disciplines, actively working on investment originations, industry research, due diligence, financial modeling, drafting of investment memoranda and confidential investment memoranda (CIMs), fund investments monitoring, and fund performance reporting. This position fills a core component of the investment process, reporting directly to the senior investment team and investment committee. This position is located at Drum Capital’s offices in Stamford, CT.

Responsibilities Direct investment activities include:

Supporting development of investment thesis and authoring of investment memos Supporting due diligence into new opportunities Constructing and maintaining financial models Assisting in research and analysis of various industries and companies Monitoring financial and operational performance of portfolio companies Providing general financial markets and industry research Assisting in preparation of investor reporting Interacting with operating portfolio companies Primary investment activities include: Updating proprietary databases of private equity managers for the firm’s active fund-of-fund pipeline Supporting due diligence of new Partnership investments (Primaries) Performing qualitative and quantitative assessments of private equity managers Performing reference calls for both private equity managers and for platform investments Maintaining internal fund attribution and performance metrics Attending annual Limited Partner meetings of existing and perspective General Partners Maintaining communication with existing investment General Partners Pitching potential private equity opportunities to the Drum Investment Committee In addition to active investment activities, the candidate will be responsible for: Developing and maintaining industry overviews, financial markets and industry research, and valuation metrics Supporting development of investment thesis and authoring of investment memos for Primaries, Co-Investments, Buy-out investments and platform add-on investments Aiding in corporate development activities including preparing information for fundraising Maintaining deal pipeline and portfolio monitoring systems Maintaining internal files including capital calls, distributions and capital statements Actively tracking foreign exchange trades, exposure and hedges Review and compile all information provided by General Partners during their fundraising efforts Preparing information for communication with Drum Capital’s Limited Partners and Debt lenders Mentoring junior analysts and summer interns Candidate will be an integral member of the investment team and will work with all members of the investment team to underwrite, analyze and manage new investments Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and/or Finance Up to three years of investment-related experience (private equity, partnership investing: primaries, secondaries, co-investments, investment banking) Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities (LBO, DCF, P/L Forecasting) Experience in financial statement analysis and accounting Enthusiastic and entrepreneurial individual with an ability to work independently, yet comfortable as part of a dynamic team Ability to develop strong working relationships with high-level executives and private equity General Partners Strong verbal and written communication skills including presentation experience Ability to prioritize work and multi-task responsibilities Self-starter, must be organized and able to work independently Ability to perform under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines Strong working knowledge of MS Office, Bloomberg, Capital IQ Limited travel required Compensation Competitive with market (Salary + Bonus + Benefits)
