We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Analyst to support our healthcare finance operations. This role will be responsible for managing profit and loss statements, performing balance sheet reconciliations, and delivering insightful financial analysis to drive strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both accounting and financial planning and a working knowledge of healthcare financial processes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze monthly profit and loss (P&L) statements across departments and service lines.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and healthcare industry standards.
Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and dashboards to support budgeting and strategic planning initiatives.
Analyze trends in revenue, costs, and operational performance, and present findings to finance leadership.
Assist in the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Support cost analysis, reimbursement modeling, and variance analysis specific to healthcare services and patient care units.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to align financial goals with operational metrics.
Ensure compliance with healthcare accounting standards and participate in audits as needed.
Participate in system implementations and improvements for financial reporting tools (e.g., ERP, EHR, BI platforms).
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).3-5 years of experience in financial analysis and accounting, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, healthcare reimbursement principles, and cost accounting.
Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Epic, Oracle, SAP, Workday, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a complex, regulated environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with healthcare KPIs, such as cost per patient, reimbursement rates, and clinical productivity.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and internal controls relevant to healthcare finance.
Exposure to value-based care financial modeling and reporting.
