Position Summary:

This is a financial analyst position in GPS/Port Operations The analyst will support the GPS and Port Operation teams in effectively managing their budgets This person must coordinate with all levels of management to gather analyze and summarize relevant information to create budgets and forecasts The analyst maintains continuous contact with operating groups and keeps current on business developments and data trends and incorporates any changes into the forecast

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The budget for GPS/Port Operations is approximately $820M The analyst would be responsible for anywhere from $200M – $400M The analyst’s objective is to end the year within 1% of target

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares monthly forecasts and annual budgets for specific expense accounts Analyzes month-end variances and submits explanations to Accounting Prepares month-end journal entries including re-classes accruals and prepaid entries Develops and maintains monthly reports for operating teams and upper management Performs ad-hoc analysis and presentations as needed This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position Employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

Bachelor degree in finance or accounting Two to four years of financial experience including a strong background in business/financial planning & analysis skills Master’s Degree in Business / Finance preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
