Job Description

BASIC PURPOSE

Assist reporting sr. manager with comprehensive analyses related to the allocation of the company’s capital resources. Specifically, responsible for the independent review and analysis of all capital project appropriation requests (shipboard and shoreside). Prepare and present formal findings and recommendations to the executive management team. Maintain and update financial data associated with company’s capital projects, which includes, preparation of planned additions to the company’s fixed assets and forecasting depreciation expense.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and maintain working models to support long-range capital investment roadmaps. Prepare and measure (ROI) of Capital Projects. Review detailed financial analyses prepared to support CPARs using, but not limited to, internal rate of return, net present value of future cash flows, and payback period analyses. Proactively manage all active CPARs ensuring that all appropriate documentation / analyses are prepared and reviewed in a timely manner. Generate monthly summary schedules for cost oversight of all island and development capital projects. Review of financial data in the general ledger to ensure proper classification of transactions. Develop reporting tools as needed for the operational areas to successfully run the business and make good decisions. Prepare financial analysis models for all potential investments and measure results while in test periods. Provide recommendations based on the analysis performed. Assist Operations with the development, review and upload of all budgets and forecasts. Recommend and implement process improvements to improve the overall process flow of various functions. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline; MBA preferred.

EXPERIENCE

3-4 years’ experience in Finance, Accounting, and/or budgeting functions, preferably in the cruise industry. 3-4 years’ experience performing various types of business analysis at a high level. Advanced level experience with Hyperion, Excel, and Access.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Good understanding of the hospitality industry and cruise industry preferred. Good business savvy and common sense. Good interpersonal skills. Willing to take ownership of areas of responsibility. Goal driven. Excellent communication and ‘people’ skills. Must be able to work quickly and under pressure while maintaining high levels of accuracy, personal responsibility and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Solid analytical ability. Team player – ability to work well with team members and outside contacts. Excellent work ethic. Must demonstrate ability to work with the highest degree of accuracy.
