Job Description
Macdonald & Company has partnered with a leading private equity real estate investment firm to appoint an Asset Manager to join their growing team. This is a high-impact role managing a diverse portfolio of multi-family properties. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone with deep sector expertise, strong financial acumen, and a passion for driving value across operations. Key Responsibilities Oversee performance and operations of a portfolio of multi-family assets Develop and implement strategic asset management plans to drive NOI and value creation Monitor key performance indicators such as occupancy, income, expenses, and capex Collaborate with third-party property managers on leasing, marketing, and operational strategies Conduct property inspections and lead initiatives for improvements or repositioning Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses for investors and senior leadership Lead budgeting and forecasting for assigned assets Identify and evaluate value-add opportunities including renovation and redevelopment projects Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal standards Stay informed on market trends to inform portfolio strategy Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 5 years’ experience in real estate asset management, property management, or investment, with a focus on multi-family Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, or related field; advanced credentials such as CFA or CPM are a plus Proficient in Excel and real estate software such as Yardi or MRI Strong communication and negotiation skills Proven ability to manage multiple assets in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment Willingness to travel as needed Ideal Background You may currently be an Asset Manager at an investment manager, real estate private equity firm, or operator, with experience directly managing multi-family assets. You’re comfortable navigating everything from budgeting and reporting to property-level performance and capital improvements.
