Description We are looking for a highly experienced Financial Analyst to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in investment accounting, financial reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing investment portfolios, streamlining accounting processes, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and reconcile diverse investment portfolios, including equities, bonds, mutual funds, and alternative investments.
- Accurately record and track investment transactions such as purchases, sales, dividends, interest, and capital gains.
- Prepare detailed investment accounting reports that comply with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers and external investment advisors to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for stakeholders.
- Analyze and explain financial variances between actual results and budget forecasts.
- Support year-end audit processes by ensuring proper documentation of all investment and accounting transactions.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting regulations, and industry best practices.
- Stay informed about updates in accounting standards and their implications for investment accounting. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on investment accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Strong knowledge of investment accounting principles and portfolio management practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP, alongside advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with financial reporting and regulatory compliance standards is essential.
