Job Description
JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services. The Senior Financial Analyst is a high performing self-starter with a strong work ethic. This role is pivotal in performing the global consolidation process for a complex multinational organization and preparing consolidated financial statements.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assist with preparation of company’s financial statements and reporting (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, etc.) Compile and review various reports and data used in preparing financial reports and disclosures. Monitor all consolidation-related activities such as changes to the global chart of accounts, entity reporting hierarchies, consolidation mappings, intercompany eliminations, and other processes/controls. Serving as a key contact point related to the consolidation process ensuring strong communication and timely resolution of issues with our global colleagues. Understand and analyze the impact of foreign currency and translation impact on the financial results. Prepares consolidation and adjusting journal entries, system reconciliations, and other ad hoc requests as necessary on a timely and accurate basis Coordination and review of financial statements and external audits for international subsidiaries and groups
Other:
Communicate, research, and resolve subsidiary and regional inquiries related to US GAAP and company policy. Support year-end audit with international subsidiaries and regional offices. Collaborate with IT on reporting software updates and developments related to system upgrades, financial reporting, and required improvements. Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance. Support year-end audit with international subsidiaries and regional offices. Collaborate to identify and implement advancements in reporting processes and control procedures related to the reporting function for the company.
The ideal candidate:
Will be able to work with large data sets, perform data mining, and possess excellent skills in Excel and report writing. Is detail oriented, works with a sense of urgency, takes initiative, and can work through multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Will be able to work independently as well as collaboratively across the department as well as with the external auditors. Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy of financial statements and consolidation processes. Has excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, to resolve reporting needs and with the ability to apply knowledge and expertise to support decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA or CPA a plus. 4-6 years of experience in Finance or Accounting preferably 3 years in a Financial Analyst role in a multi-national company. Working knowledge of US GAAP. Experience in consolidating financial data from multiple subsidiaries. Understanding of Foreign Currency Translations. Strong Excel skills required. Excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities utilizing strong analytical skills. Able to work efficiently with minimum supervision and within tight time constraints. Financial Systems such as Workday Financials, Adaptive, and CargoWise One preferred. Mergers & Acquisition experience a plus.
ENVIRONMENT
100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel will be (up to 10%) required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
