Job Summary
This position reports to the Director of DCG Business Operations at the Dental College of Gia. The position provides highlevel financial analysis, support, and reporting for the Dental College of Gia (DCG), enabling strategic decisionmaking by the Director of DCG Business & Finance. The Analyst will focus on budget amendments, HR management, grant administration, and departmental reporting, using advanced analytical skills to ensure that DCG remains financially efficient and aligned with strategic goals. The role also supports the Director in managingplex financial systems and contributes to developingprehensive departmental reports and PeopleSoft Financials and HRMS training.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to

BUDGET AND FINANCIAL ANALYSIS

Coordinate and process budget amendments and requests for all DCG accounts, including appropriation, projectgrant, and departmental sales accounts. This includes highlevel analysis of departmental budgets, understanding the impact of funding lapses, and forecasting risks.
Assist the Director with the creation of the original budget, including reviewing salary allocations and personnel distributions to ensure proper alignment with funding sources.
Analyze and verify the allocation of personnel and nonpersonnel costs (salaries, benefits, services) across different departments and funding sources to ensure that all cost centers are adequately funded.
Conduct trend analysis based on historical spending patterns from previous fiscal years to forecast future budgetary needs, ensuring departments have sufficient funds to operate effectively.
Prepare monthly amendments for personnel and nonpersonnel costs, including costsharing amendments that ensure efficient use of funds within fiscal constraints.
Assist the Director with strategic financial planning, advising on the allocation of multiple funding sources (e.g., state, grants, foundation, faculty practice, etc.).
Review, analyze, and rmend solutions for funding gaps to ensure that all DCGmitments are met and that resources are effectively utilized.
Maintain and track financialmitments for new faculty and ensure proper balance and carryover of startup funds.
Prepare and analyze departmental financial reports to include but not limited to Quarterly Discretionary s and Program Cost Analysis for strategic review.

HR SUPPORT AND PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT

Coordinate and analyze electronic personnel action requests (EPARs) to ensure they align with funding changes (e.g., RI, DSS, MCGDF). Provide critical analysis of salary adjustments, position classifications, and other personnelrelated transactions.
Review and analyze Position Classification Forms (PCFs) and Faculty Position Descriptions (FPDs) to ensure they align with DCG’s needs, strategic goals, and budgetary constraints. Ensure position classificationsply with university standards and market benchmarks.
Prepare monthly personnel amendments and provide strategic support to the Director in staffing decisions, budget impacts, and alignment with overall financial strategies.
Assist with HRrelated reporting, including tracking personnel costs and offering data insights to support the Director in budgeting decisions.
Support in training DCG staff on PeopleSoft HRMS and ensure the accuracy of HR data and financial systems.

GRANT MANAGEMENT AND COMPLIANCE

Provide strategic analysis and support for grant management in coordination with the Director. Serve as a point of contact for sponsored projects and faculty, offering support and guidance on grantrelated financial issues.
Review and approve effort adjustments and Esroute routing to ensurepliance with sponsored accounting requirements.
Assist Principal Investigators (PIs) and administrative staff with grant reporting, budget adjustments, and other grantpliance matters.
Ensure alignment between DCG’s financialmitments and sponsored funding to optimize resource utilization and facilitate smooth project management.

DEPARTMENTAL REPORTING AND FINANCIAL SYSTEMS SUPPORT

Assist in developing and generating departmental reports to monitor the financial health of the DCG and support the Director¿s strategic decisions. This includes monthlyannual reports on departmental activity, budget performance, and fund utilization.
Support the Director in maintaining and improving financial systems (PeopleSoft Financials, HRMS) and providing training to DCG staff to ensure accurate and effective use of the system.
Contribute to the creation of strategic financial reports that track the progress of major DCG projects and help the Director evaluate financial performance against goals.

GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE AND STRATEGIC SUPPORT

Support the Director in identifying immediate issues, problemsolving financial discrepancies, and resolving operational bottlenecks across DCG departments.
Assist with special projects and ad hoc reports as requested, including budgetary forecasts, financial analyses, and strategic planning documents to support the Director¿s decisionmaking.
Ensurepliance with financial policies and internal controls for all DCG financial transactions and systems.
Provide ongoing support to the Director in all areas of financial planning and decisionmaking, using advanced data analysis to rmend actionable strategies.
Monitor and resolve financial issues within the DCG, offering solutions based on datadriven insights.
Assist with the preparation of endofyear reports and help manage the yearend class process.

OTHER DUTIES

Perform all other jobrelated duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or a related discipline. Five years of administrative management experience. Preferred Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Master¿s degree in Business Administration; experience in academic health care and clinical administration operations; extensive knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials and HRMS; working knowledge of AU policies and procedures; additional years of experience. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to presentplex data clearly and concisely. Stronganizational andmunication skills to work closely with the Director and other internal teams.
Preferred Experience
Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and grantpliance.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE

Sound financial management skills with expertise in MS Excel and Word. (Databases, Operating Systems, and Spreadsheets)
Knowledge of fiscal administration, project audits, regulatorypliance, and record management.
SKILLS
Financial forecasting skilled in the development of short and longrange goals and production of financial reports appropriate for financial decision making.
