Job Description
Financial Systems Operations Analyst 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 725 North Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201 Summary Supports the Health System’s financial and operational planning and development for the operating budget and maintenance of systems associated with financial/operational report development. Participates in the development and implementation of projects that support the strategic goals of the Health System. Reviews and reconciles account variances and resolves any issues; prepares various reports and analysis. Educates/trains end users in the budgeting systems and report collection. Maintain end-user security and access to financial information. Implements report automation and assists with development of new reporting and budgeting tools. Experience Five years of experience in a finance environment. Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate critical thinking skills, sound knowledge of financial accounting, fluid knowledge of Microsoft products and experience with internal computer systems Education Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting. Course work in computer operations/systems or relevant experience required. Experience in report development, operational analysis, and exposure to the healthcare field. Advanced understanding of statistical tools and technology necessary to analyze data, organize and summarize data into compelling and informative reports that can be presented to and utilized by managers and senior managers in an effort to improve operations. Additional Requirements In depth understanding of healthcare industry and issues gained through 3+ years experience in either hospital operations, financial analysis and/or systems improvement required. Ability to work with limited supervision on projects. Ability to prioritize work, multi-task and meet deadlines. Self-motivated-can see opportunities or issues, develop a process to analyze and understand the root cause and work alone or with others as appropriate to bring issues to resolution. Requires initiative, creativity, attention to detail and a sense of ownership over a process and system that will be relied upon by others to support decision making in the organization. Motivated to learn the structure of underlying data bases, interrelationship between various system applications and leverage such knowledge on ensuring integrity of data and reports. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multi-functional teams. Works closely with others to share resources, improve the overall processes of the Finance Division, and support projects as needed. Requires an aptitude for technology and systems; advanced user of Excel.
