Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Investment Portfolio Credit Analyst to join our Finance team. The role is central to ensuring the soundness of the bank’s credit investments and counterparty exposure by conducting independent credit analysis on institutions where the bank owns securities or maintains financial relationships. While this position resides in the Finance department, the Credit Analyst will work in close coordination with the Credit department to ensure consistency in credit views across the enterprise. This role offers a unique intersection of finance, credit risk, and strategy, supporting both portfolio oversight and prudent balance sheet management. Training can be provided to bolster credit knowledge in any area. This position reports to the Treasurer, works closely with the investment team, and has no direct reports. + Conduct ongoing credit reviews of financial institutions, insurance carriers, counterparties, and municipal entities where the bank owns bonds or has other exposure. + Monitor credit ratings, market developments, and financial filings to assess the strength and risk profile of these counterparties. + Produce clear and well-reasoned credit memos summarizing recommendations and risk factors for internal committees and senior leadership. + Collaborate with the Credit department to maintain alignment in credit assessments and risk appetite across the bank. + Contribute to stress testing and scenario analysis involving counterparties and securities holdings. + Maintain a database or framework for tracking exposures and credit reviews. + Participate in the review of new counterparties or security purchases, providing a credit perspective to guide decision-making.

- Education and Experience
- + Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field.
+ Master’s Degree or equivalent is a plus. + 3-7+ years of experience in credit analysis + Strong analytical skill and a solid understanding of financial statement, credit metrics, and risk factors. + Advanced Excel skills. + Strong teamwork mentality with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability. + Candidate will be a self-starter, highly motivated with a solid quantitative background. + Strong ability to communicate with stakeholders on the team and throughout the organization. + Detailed understanding of industry liquidity practices and regulation. + Ability to operate in a highly regulated environment. + Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
