It will ensure compliance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other relevant regulations. This position will require a deep understanding of cost accounting principles, government contracting, and financial reporting. You’ll work with the broader Bird Johnson team to support all Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audits and assist in other government accounting and compliance functions. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Retrieve and reconcile supporting documentation to substantiate proposed or claimed costs on government contracts in an organized manner
Reviews expenses for adherence to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 31 for allowable cost determination
Leads reviews of basis of estimates used in proposals ensuring adherence to Estimating System and supporting fair and reasonable pricing
Lead the preparation and submission of Forward Pricing Rate Proposals and Incurred Cost Submissions
Develops and prepares the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) disclosure statement for compliance with federal regulations, documenting accounting practices and cost allocation methods
Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits related to formal government submissions
Interpret and apply FAR, DFAR, and CAS to ensure company compliance with Department of Defense requirements
Expected to be actively engaged with the organization’s culture of teamwork, velocity, and integrity
Other duties and special projects as assigned Qualifications and Educational Requirements Must have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in US Government related audits and/or Cost Accounting experience
Firm knowledge of defense contracting regulations and compliance requirements (FAR, DFAR, CAS)
Must be proficient in MS Office tools; strong Excel skills required
Proficient in use of an ERP computer software package; Infor Visual experience strongly preferred
Must be a US citizen
