The SMB Investment Optimization team plays a pivotal role in WEX’s strategy to deliver shareholder growth by assessing investment opportunities focused on new customer acquisition. This team leverages comprehensive financial models, advanced forecasting, and data driven solutions to inform the company’s growth strategy. This team partners closely with Risk, Marketing, and other Financial Planning and Analysis teams to collaborate on strategies focused on customer growth. How you’ll make an impact Design, develop, and implement data visualization to inform the company’s customer growth strategy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement a framework for assessing investment opportunities. Perform analysis and exploration of financial data from various sources while ensuring data integrity and accessibility. Analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. Translate business data into metrics, dashboards, and reports to monitor financial performance. Develop code and automated processes to manage large volumes of data from disparate sources and extract informative patterns. Keep abreast of emerging trends in machine learning and identify opportunities to leverage new tools to solve problems and improve processes. Identify trends and patterns to inform business strategies and synthesize findings into actionable insights. Experience you’ll bring 1+ years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, or artificial intelligence, preferably in fintech/ financial services industry Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to tackle complex challenges and deliver innovative solutions. Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science Advanced knowledge of SQL or Python and experience creating and managing large datasets to organize and extract useful information Adaptable and comfortable working collaboratively and independently in a self-starting manner Evidence of creative problem solving, critical thinking and a continual learning mindset The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX’s total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
