Position Overview The Project Financial Analyst is responsible for providing comprehensive financial analysis, reporting, and support for government contracting projects. This role ensures accurate financial management, project cost control, and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in government contracting (GovCon), expertise in financial analysis, and proficiency with Unanet. Key Responsibilities Prepare and maintain project financial forecasts, including Estimate at Completion (EAC) calculations and analysis. Monitor project funding, ensuring accurate tracking of budget, actual costs, and remaining funds. Conduct variance analysis between budgeted and actual performance, identifying key drivers and recommending corrective actions. Provide detailed financial reporting and support for monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews. Serve as the primary administrator for Unanet, ensuring accurate project setup, time tracking, and cost allocation. Collaborate with project managers to review financial performance, forecast revenue, and manage project budgets. Support invoicing and revenue recognition in compliance with contractual terms. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for financial processes. Assist in the preparation of cost proposals and support contract negotiations with financial data and analysis. Ensure compliance with government regulations, company policies, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience in lieu of education will be considered. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, project finance, or accounting in a government contracting (GovCon) environment. Proficiency in Unanet or similar financial management software. Strong understanding of EACs, variance analysis, and project cost control. Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Preferred Qualifications Experience with government cost accounting standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). Professional certifications such as Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Work Environment This role may be performed in a hybrid or remote capacity, depending on company policy. Occasional travel may be required for team meetings or customer engagements.
