General Description The Land Financial Analyst is responsible for conducting financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and investment analysis to support land acquisitions and development projects. This role involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure sound financial planning and decision-making for land development initiatives.

Key Duties Financial Planning & Analysis:

Develop and maintain financial models to support land development projects. Analyze project budgets, financial forecasts, and profitability to assist in decision-making.

Budget Management:

Assist in the preparation of project budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budget performance, track expenses, and analyze variances to ensure financial targets are met.

Financial Modeling:

Build and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. Ensure all models are accurate, comprehensive, and up to date.

Reporting & Data Management:

Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders. Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data related to land development projects. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data and market trends.

Project Evaluation & Feasibility Studies:

Support the team in conducting financial feasibility studies for new land acquisitions and development projects. Evaluate potential returns on investment and associated risks.

Collaboration & Cross-Departmental Coordination:

Work closely with project managers, developers, and other departments to gather information and understand project needs. Support financial planning efforts to ensure project goals align with company strategy.

Regulatory Compliance & Audits:

Ensure financial practices comply with internal policies and industry regulations. Assist with audits and other compliance activities related to land development financing.

Qualification Requirements Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, real estate, or land development. Proficiency in financial modeling, market research, and investment analysis.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling software, and data management tools. Ability to interpret zoning laws, entitlement processes, and land use regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and deadline management. Physical Demands Frequent sitting and computer use for financial modeling and reporting. Occasional travel to land development sites and industry meetings. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Work Environment Office-based role with occasional site visits for land evaluations. Exposure to financial reporting, real estate analysis, and market research settings. Interaction with executive leadership, finance teams, and external stakeholders.
