Job Summary The renewable interconnection process is a complex, rapidly growing part of Duke Energy’s footprint. This position will be a part of a team responsible for performing financial analysis and reporting as well as accounting support for that effort. This position requires a blended knowledge of technical and functional financial reporting and analysis skills. This position will provide regulatory knowledge including familiarity with FERC and State interconnection requirements for all jurisdictions to support various financial reporting. Effective leadership, communication and collaboration skills are essential for this position as the incumbent is responsible for work that crosses and impacts multiple regions and jurisdictions. The incumbent will have the unique opportunity to learn the inner workings of the interconnection process while also being a resource to its leaders. The position will support more traditional projects related to strategic initiatives in the Grid Planning & Integration business. Responsibilities Serve as a subject matter expert providing guidance and assistance for questions and issues related to interconnection accounting and finances and related processes Coordinate and support month end close activities including financial transactions and journal entries relating to construction and study cost allocations and liability clearing Support multiple jurisdictions interconnection/upgrade plans for Transmission Research and reconcile account balances related to the interconnection process Assist in preparation and review of government filings including FERC reports and rate case support Participate in financial reporting design and automation efforts Support reporting of actuals compared to budgets/projections for current year and long-term forecasts Participate in process discussions related to financial implications of interconnection regulatory requirements Maintain proper business and financial processes to ensure adherence to internal controls. Participate as a team member for various special projects or financial studies.

Works overtime as needed Required/Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting/Finance or related discipline Three (3) plus years of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field in addition to degree Possesses and applies fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and procedures Experience with financial applications (i.e., PeopleSoft, PowerPlan, etc.) and query tools (WebI) Experience using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word and Power Point Desired Qualifications MBA or other advanced degree in Accounting or Finance CPA or CPA candidate Advanced Excel Skills Proven analytical skills Working knowledge of accounting systems and financial systems Experience in Accounting, Treasury, Tax, M&A, Strategy, operations/business planning organizations Ability to meet stated deadlines and respond quickly to changing needs Ability to work in a team environment & foster good relationships with teammates & business partners Working Conditions Hybrid Mobility Classification

  • Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period.
