Job Description

Overview:

Independently leads data and reporting projects within or across Departments (COEs) and represents the COE in enterprise-wide projects. Data expert who will liaise with various enterprise-wide data teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

Act as Data Steward for Commercial Lending Operations, help resolve data issues that are escalated to Enterprise Data. Liaise directly with data teams throughout the organization. Help lead and drive Data Remediation and Review strategy as part of Service Modernization, including oversight of the process, tracking, and execution. Provide reporting and data analytic support as required. Lead data mapping exercises. Oversee and/or coordinate development and production of highly complex departmental reports and spreadsheets, including project or product strategy analyses, historical reporting, work flow analyses and financial analyses for Commercial Lending Operations. Conduct highly complex analysis and judgment-based work over a standard discipline or a range of disciplines to support Commercial Lending Operations decisions. Conduct highly complex data review, research, and/or reconciliation for Commercial Lending Operations. Lead the drafting and editing of procedures related to Commercial Lending Operations to maintain their currency. Lead support provided for departmental audits including user certifications and compliance testing for Commercial Lending Operations. Manage and facilitate the planning, testing and implementing of new projects, systems, products and regulatory changes impacting Commercial Lending Operations. Lead departmental system support, coordinating with internal business partners, external vendors and Technology to address issues impacting Commercial Lending Operations. Provide functional system expertise to colleagues throughout the Division and Bank. Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Complete other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience, OR in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 9 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years’ related experience Strong analytical skills Strong organizational skills Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent word processing and spreadsheet software Strong verbal and written communication skills

Education and Experience Preferred:

Master’s degree in Business Administration or other advanced degree Data management and mapping experience Prior AFS or commercial banking experience Reporting and data tools such as SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, and Sharepoint M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees.
