Job Description

Exposure Management Analyst Duties:

Analyze and report exposures and cat modelled losses for US Property Business. Use catastrophe models and aggregation tools to pre-risk the account and manage a portfolio of exposures. Support the exposure management and catastrophe modelling function for all group entities. Maintain and develop Ascot’s high standards expected of Exposure Management. Report to senior management as well as externally to Lloyds and other regulators/rating agencies. Assist in the pricing and management of a portfolio of risks, which will include frequent liaison with underwriting units for data requirements, clarification and understanding, and will involve the data cleansing and analysis using the licensed modelling software, Touchstone Re. Assist in maintaining modelled and non-modelled databases to ensure: Completion of timely and accurate capture of all data by month end deadlines; and timely and accurate reporting of worldwide modelled losses and exposure for all treaty portfolios in accordance with team deadlines. Monitor and liaise with the data cleansing team responsible for data entry of non-modelled treaty data. Be involved in the preparation of regulatory reporting returns to regulators and a range of other internal and external reporting requirements. Assist in the preparation of Reinsurance data submissions and responses to reinsurer questions and data requests. Be involved in post-event catastrophe loss analysis using a variety of tools and approaches including internal models, vendor model event footprints and mapping/GIS solutions. Be involved in ongoing projects and research to continue the development of the exposure management capabilities and knowledge base. Use Microsoft Excel, as well as exposure to vendor model software and exposure products.

Requirements:

Requires Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field of study, and 2 years of experience in any job title/occupation/position involving exposure management or catastrophe modelling. Experience specified must include 2 years of experience with each of the following: key principles and complexities of catastrophe insurance, loss modelling and aggregation; working in an insurance company or consulting firm; Power BI or Tableau; and Microsoft Excel. Experience specified must include 1 year of experience with each of the following: programing language such as SQL or Python; and at least one vendor catastrophe modelling software such as AIR. Telecommuting permitted. May live anywhere in the U.S.
