LPL Financial Research is a team that provides market insights, asset allocation, and model portfolios to our independent advisors. In this endeavor, our sole motivation is to provide stellar investment management advice – as a partner for those advisors who manage client assets themselves or as a portfolio manager for those advisors who want to leverage our experience.
LPL is seeking a Senior Analyst to join its Investment Research department in Charlotte, NC. The Senior Analyst will be a generalist for the Global Manager Research Team and the Portfolio Construction Services Team. The Global Manager Research Team gathers, analyzes, and disseminates information and opinions on public investment funds, supporting decision making by our discretionary services portfolio managers and clients. The Portfolio Construction Services Team builds bespoke portfolios for advisors seeking comparisons for current and proposed portfolios. The Senior Analyst will also enter our formal Analyst Development Program, which includes completing quarterly milestones, senior investment analyst mentoring, and senior leader sponsorship.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Analyst will have having a wide range of opportunities to contribute, including:
Help senior team members in developing house opinions on equity, fixed income, multi-asset, and alternative managers and markets through ongoing qualitative and quantitative research and analysis.
Conduct portfolio performance analysis, including use of Factset, Bloomberg, Morningstar, Evestment, and/or other in-house and third-party analytical tools.
Utilize common analytical frameworks and develop unique analyses to assess funds in terms of organization, investment strategy, performance, fund terms, current portfolio positions, and other key attributes;
Help senior team members in developing portfolios based upon current and proposed investments using model portfolio techniques.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (any major)
Experience communicating with Internal & External stakeholders
Core Competencies:
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and initiative
Preferences:
Excel skills preferred;
MBA/MA/MS
a plus
Ability to obtain Series 7 and 66 or Series 65 within one year of employment
Progress towards or interest in pursuing CFA designation.
Pay Range:
$94,200-$157,000/year
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
