Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Analyst II to join our team in a hybrid capacity. The ideal candidate will have 3-4+ years of experience , strong analytical skills, and advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs are essential; Power Query is a plus but can be trained). A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is strongly preferred; candidates with degrees in Finance or Supply Chain will also be considered if they meet the technical requirements. This position is responsible for supporting the month-end close process, preparing and analyzing financial reports, and delivering insights to the Vice President and Regional Controller in a timely and accurate manner. The role requires comfort working with large datasets and contributing to ongoing financial evaluations and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the monthly accounting close process and branch-level financial statement preparation. Prepare, analyze, and report accounting transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP. Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts, P&L statements, and bank reconciliations. Deliver timely financial reporting and variance analysis to leadership, including the VP and Regional Controllers. Coordinate and support the implementation of accounting procedures and internal controls. Contribute to budget preparation and ongoing budget support activities. Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in their implementation. Handle ad hoc financial projects and assume other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred; Finance or Supply Chain degrees considered. Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting or financial analysis role. Corporate accounting experience is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs required; Power Query a plus). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with ERP systems and large datasets is desirable.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Effective communication skills for interacting with cross-functional teams and management. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Work Environment:
Hybrid work model: 3 days onsite in the Nashville/Antioch area, 2 days remote. No supervisory responsibilities. Must be able to manage standard office tasks with occasional extended screen time.
