We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our accounting and finance team. This role is ideal for individuals in the early stages of their career or currently completing a degree in Accounting or Finance who are eager to apply their education in a hands-on, real-world setting. The initial focus of this position will be forensic analysis of historical sales and sales tax records to help recover an estimated $250,000 in overpaid sales tax. Beyond that, the role offers the opportunity to gain experience in systems analysis, process improvement, documentation, and general ledger reconciliations, making it a strong foundational role for anyone looking to build a long-term career in accounting or finance.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform detailed forensic review of historical sales and sales tax transactions to support the identification of overpayments and recovery efforts. Assist in identifying and correcting transactional mapping discrepancies between Microsoft D365 and Vertex sales tax software. Completing portions of tax software settings and testing to ensure accurate transaction communication between systems. Contribute to the documentation of findings from research and transactional analysis. Assist in drafting standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials related to D365 and Vertex processes. Support reconciliation of subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Participate in ad hoc accounting and financial analysis projects as assigned.

Work Arrangement:

This is a hybrid position , with the option to work remotely up to three days per week . During the initial training period (first two weeks), in-office presence is preferred to support collaborative onboarding and learning.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of at least two years toward a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of lookup functions, tables, pivot tables, filters, and
