Full Job Description Job Description Summary:

Support daily accounting activities for Aviagen’s shared accounting services for three US-based businesses. Assist month end close activities, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgeting process. Responsible for insurance claim administration, various account reconciliations and lease tracking and reporting. Produce various financial reports for management in regards to department expenses, capital expenditures and overall business objectives. Consolidate monthly business unit activity related to production and inventory including farms, hatcheries, feed mills and benchmarking costs per unit key cost drivers and variance analysis. Work with Controller to develop and maintain strong business and system controls as well as focus on process improvements. The position reports to the VP of Finance.

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain internal modeling and system maintenance / administration for quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting with all business units. Finance team point person for business unit financial managers for operational reporting and initiatives including production cost per unit, cost drivers and cost variances. Analyze company inventories via preparation of monthly journals and report on findings. Month End Close duties to ensure financial statement integrity including account reconciliations. Monitor and analyze accounting data to ensure alignment between all ERP sub ledgers. Conduct Ad Hoc analysis to support strategic direction and business objectives. Report findings to management. Serve as backup for other GL functions. Provide year-end audit support for all operations. Assist in other project-oriented tasks and duties, as needed. Liaise with other departments regarding spend and variances to budget and forecast.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance. CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.

Agriculture / Poultry

knowledge or experience also a plus. 5-10 years’ experience in accounting roles with demonstrated track record of increasing responsibilities. Capable of analyzing data to reason and reach conclusions with minimum guidance. Competent in the application of accounting, finance, auditing, and cost control technologies. System requirements include strong working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and a working knowledge of ERP systems (i.e. Microsoft GP). A team player who can relate to people at all levels of the organization and who possesses excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and a positive professional image. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be a self-starter and be able to meet duties and responsibilities with minimum supervision. Dependability, accuracy, and highest integrity are essential.
