Full Job Description Role:
The Mortgage Processing Manager is responsible for the daily functions of mortgage processing department and processing staff. This includes all processing functions, document preparation, quality control, document imaging, and reporting. Directly oversees the mortgage processing team to ensure the department meets all operational, service, and production metrics. Supports the centralized lending center and mortgage origination teams in the absence of their direct supervisors.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Manages the day-to-day operations of the mortgage processing department to include recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, disciplining, and developing all processing staff to achieve operational, member service, and production metrics. Recommends appropriate personnel actions and administers performance evaluations, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions as needed. Ensures required deadlines are met for all loans in the pipeline. Maintains current knowledge of all rules, regulations and laws that apply to mortgage and consumer lending as well
BSA, OFAC, USA
Patriot Act, CIP, and AML. Ensures that operational procedures and policies follow State and Federal regulations as well as internal compliance requirements. Maintains a working pipeline as needed to support mortgage processors. Maintains communications with VP of Lending, lending specialists, other department managers, underwriting personnel, and funding personnel to ensure all borrowers receive an industry leading lending experience. Identifies procedural revisions or policy changes through teammate feedback, data analysis, quality control findings, compliance updates, and loan origination software (LOS) enhancements. Makes recommendations as revisions are identified. Stays up to date on LOS capabilities and enhancements. Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the mortgage and consumer lending LOS platform and participates in team projects to maintain optimal efficiencies with the platform. Develops and maintains relationships with community members, key stakeholders, and organizations to help attract new borrowers and referral sources. Serves as a back up to the Centralized Lending Center Manager and Mortgage Lending Manager as needed, prepares and submits standard reports; attends and actively participates in scheduled meetings and events. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience. Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. Other Skills Proven sales and supervisory leadership experience. Ability to manage multiple deadlines. Proficiency in MS Office Software including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of Meridian Mortgage and MeridianLink preferred but not required.
