This is a highly visible role that plays a pivotal part in ensuring financial compliance, process integrity, and team development across a dynamic and expanding business. About the
Opportunity:
This position will provide leadership to the accounting function while overseeing the close process, financial reporting, and internal control compliance. You’ll collaborate across finance teams, support regulatory compliance, and contribute to process optimization and system improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles in accordance with GAAP Review staff output for SOX compliance, accuracy, and timeliness Deliver financial reporting, flux analysis, and KPI metrics to business leaders Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory filings Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, systems, and internal controls Work cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Regulatory Affairs Support ERP system optimization and be a key contributor in any future implementation initiatives Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit outcomes Contribute to ad hoc analysis and corporate projects at the request of senior leadership
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity Strong technical accounting knowledge, ideally with SOX and GAAP expertise Experience in the energy or utilities sector is highly desirable Proven ERP systems proficiency and advanced Excel capabilities A hands-on leader with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to drive decisions in a collaborative environment Why Join?
